WhatsApp will Stop Working on many smartphones by the End of the Year, Which mobile you are using? Do check this out!

WhatsApp, the most famous messaging application platform, is used by almost 95 % smartphone users in India. However, there are a few smartphones that will not be able to use WhatsApp by the end of this year. According to statements by the popular application service, WhatsApp will be removed out from Symbian and BlackBerry BBOS this year. WhatsApp has announced that December 31, 2016, will be the last day for support on Symbian and BlackBerry smartphones. This will also include Nokia S40. WhatsApp also mentioned that older smartphone operating systems on Android, Windows and iOS will too face the same. The decision was being made since March 2016, but no final date for the final support was made, however, it is now clear.
Those who are having older Android, iOS and Windows phones and others having feature phones with Symbian and BBOS will be affected. The move from WhatsApp comes in since the market prediction reveals that feature phones will be overtaken by smartphones from 2017 onwards. Using WhatsApp on older smartphones and feature phones could pose a security threat later since there would be no more updates and security patches provided by WhatsApp. Third-party developers would opt for the versions and squeeze it in order to make them function. However, using a third-party or tweaked application is never recommended.
WhatsApp had announced the end of support for the said operating systems on their blog in February. ‘So, by the end of 2016, we will be dropping support for WhatsApp Messenger on the following mobile platforms:

BlackBerry, including BlackBerry 10

Nokia S40

Nokia Symbian S60

Android 2.1 and Android 2.2

Windows Phone 7.1

iPhone 3GS/iOS 6

While these mobile devices have been an important part of our story, they don't offer the kind of abilities we need to expand our app's features in the future. If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend update to a newer Android, iPhone, or Windows Phone before the end of 2016 to continue using WhatsApp.’

Google Launching it's own Smart Phones this Year!

There might be a twist in the Android smartphone section in coming future when Google launches its own brand of smartphones. The search giant is finally planning to launch its own smartphone, which intends to tighten its grip on the mobile software platform. Unlike Apple, who has a complete control over the iPhones where it designs and supplies its common operating system to all, and outsource the manufacturing of the hardware separately. A few weeks ago, there was a report on Google need to start manufacturing its own handset and will not follow the Nexus strategy alone. However, the claims were not confirmed. The next generation of Nexus (2016) smartphones is presently rumored to be developed by HTC. While Google already designs, markets and even sells Nexus range of devices, and develops the Android operating system that runs on a majority of the smartphones sold around the globe, it is still making efforts to stay on par with the Apple counterpart.
However, this time, the news about Google manufacturing the Nexus smartphones themselves seems to be buzzing. According to a report by The Telegraph, sources close to the developments at Google informed them about this new move by Google. The report claims that apart from Google’s say in only the software section, the move will allow the company to extend its control over the design and manufacturing of the smartphones, similar to how Apple does with its iPhones. Apple works on a similar strategy, but a little differently. It leaves the manufacturing of the hardware to other companies such as Samsung, with the company concentrating more on developing the software (operating system) for their smartphones. However, Google’s own handset would allow it to control the software, securing the future of the Google services—Google search engine and Google Play Store that will run on it. Google’s new handset is expected to be released by the end of 2016. At present, the Google-developed smartphone is not yet confirmed, but the September event in 2016 will probably make the highlight.

You should Log out of Facebook Before Watching Porn!

Well, you should know that Facebook actively tracks what you do online. And that includes all your porn browsing habits too. So if you are surfing for porn online, you better make sure that you are logged out of Facebook from other tabs and browsers. If you are logged in on Facebook and are visiting any suspicious websites, Facebook can easily track what you are doing. Porn websites and other adult entertainment websites could be hosting a Facebook plug-in button to like their page or share articles. This plug-in will track you down and know what you are surfing online. Just like Google, Facebook also tracks all of your web surfing URLs since the social networking giant is collecting data about your browsing habits to target you with ads. These ads will be tuned to show you advertisements according to your taste of the online stuff, including porn.
Facebook does mention that they are collecting data from your browser to introduce advertisements that they would like you to see. These ads are tailored according to your online browsing habits. “We collect information when you visit or use third-party websites and apps that use our Services (like when they offer our Like button or Facebook login or use our measurement and advertising services). This includes information about the websites and apps you visit, your use of our Services on those websites and apps, as well as information the developer or publisher of the app or website provides to you or us,” says Facebook’s data policy Facebook’s share and like buttons are actively tracking visitors to websites they surf. However, you don’t need to worry as much as Facebook won’t target your PC with sexual ads. But what could be a worrying fact is that Facebook knows which websites you have been staring at. So if you are bothered about Facebook knowing what type of porn you like, you could ensure that you have logged out of Facebook and use a VPN to secure your online fantasies. In that manner, we advise you to log out of all websites before doing so and possibly make use of a separate browser for all your secret activities.

'Terrorists can misuse WhatsApp'. Supreme court to hear Petition on jun 29th seeking whatsapp ban in India!

After WhatsApp turned on end-to-end encryption (E2E) to secure the privacy of their one billion active users, debates over user’s privacy vs the country’s security immediately germinated. WhatsApp’s decision on the 256-bit encryption came after the FBI-Apple battle over seeking messages from the locked iPhone of an alleged terrorist. Though encrypting messages may be an excellent option where hackers and the government cannot track on the user’s private lives, this makes a tremendous issue when the police have to break into messages that are passed on using this way to protect its citizens. Following the enabling of WhatsApp encryption, many activists around the world claimed it as a potential threat to National security. In India, an encryption of up to 40-bit is considered legal and services that are performing this type of encryption have to register with the government. Those who are using higher encryption are presently in the gray area, and so is the case with WhatsApp. Hence, indirectly, WhatsApp is presently illegal in India, but there are no guidelines as yet in the country which can ban them for now.
Earlier last month, an RTI activist from Gurgaon, Sudhir Yadav, had filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a complete ban on the messaging platform WhatsApp. The RTI petition was filed under the registration number DOTEL/R/2016/50413. Sudhir wants a ban on WhatsApp because they have decided to encrypt all messages that get exchanged on the platform. He also said that any terrorist can safely chat on WhatsApp and make plans to harm the country and the Indian intelligence agencies would not be able to hit them to take necessary actions. The Supreme Court will hear a petition on June 29— seeking a ban on WhatsApp on the ground that the messaging app’s E2E encryption could pose a threat to the country’s security—as it gives terrorists a means of easy communication and that it is impossible to stop by the government and security agencies.
Other than WhatsApp, the petition has also asked the court to take a decision on other highly encrypted messaging services such as Hike, Secure Chat, Viber and a few others. The Supreme Court will hear the petition on June 29, which will decide the future of WhatsApp and a few other messaging platforms in India. Will WhatsApp be banned? Should WhatsApp be banned? Come June 29, we shall hear what the Supreme Court has to command.
