Bengaluru: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths have busted a prostitution racket in JP Nagar where minor girls were recruited into the flesh trade. The police have rescued two minor girls hailing from West Bengal and have arrested three persons including two women runners who have been booked under POCSO and several other sections. Acting on reliable information, the sleuths raided a house in JP Nagar on June 18 and rescued the girls. Both have been shifted for counseling to NIMHANS and will later be sent to state-run girls home before they are handed over to an NGO for reuniting them with their parents, police sources said.
During the interrogation, the accused told the sleuths that the girls were lured to Bengaluru by promising them jobs in beauty parlors and convincing them that they could earn a lot of money. The three persons who were arrested are Kajol Khan, 23, a native of Bihar, Jannath, 23, native of Mumbai and Praveen Kumar from Bihar. The sleuths seized mobile phones, laptops, a diary along with cash of Rs 1,000 and condoms from the spot. The JP Nagar police have registered a case under sections 366 (a), 370 (a) (1), 373 of IPC and section 3, 4, 5 and 7 of ITP Act and also section 18 of POCSO Act 2012. The cops have also booked against the owner of the house named Ganesh.
